Christmas is here, and now is the time to be jolly and celebrate the season with laughter and joy. To us, nothing is more merrier than edibles infused with premium quality cannabis. And we deserve it as well, when we look at the unfortunate and highly unpleasant year we have had. It’s better to end it with a blast isn’t it?

If you are looking to do so, then you are in the right place. Today, we’ll be sharing fove of our favorite weed infused recipes for the holidays.

So what are we waiting for, lets begin.

A few tips for before you start cooking

The first thing you need to do in all cannabis infused recipes is to decarboxylate your weed first. What this basically means is that you have to bake your weed first, before you can use it in any recipe. This process can take some time to complete, especially if your cannabis is fresh. But believe us, the process is worth it.

Decarbing your weed basically converts the THCA you find in dried cannabis, into the more psychoactive THC. This basically makes your edibles more potent, and ensures that you feel the effects more quickly.

The process is simple as well. Just grind your herbs, put it in your baking sheet and bake it at low to medium heat for around 30 minutes.

If you don’t want to do all this, you can simply purchase and use cannabis tinctures, cannabutter, or cannabis infused oil as well.

1. Cannabis infused eggnog

Nothing says Christmas better than eggnog. It is the Christmas drink after all. Which is why we bring you an easy, but special recipe for eggnog, which requires one very special ingredient, marijuana.

Here’s what you’ll need

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 3 – 4 grams of ground cannabis
  • 3 – 4 ounces of brandy
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of vanilla extract
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of allspice
  • ½ teaspoon of clove

Instructions

Put your cannabis, butter, brandy, and vanilla extract in a saucepan and cook it at the lowest heat for 45 minutes, stirring regularly. Then, add the nutmeg, allspice, and clove to the mixture and let it cook for a further 15 minutes.

Then, using a strainer, strain the mixture and let it cool completely. Once it is cool, add eggs, cream, and sugar to the mixture, and whisk it until it is nice and creamy. If you feel like it, you can sprinkle some additional allspice on it, before pouring it into four glasses and serving them with a cinnamon stick each.

2. Snowball Cannabis Cookies

Delicious and buttery, Snowball Cookies are already Christmas themed and make for a great addition to any Christmas feast.

Though they don’t contain cannabis normally, luckily, snowball cookies are quite easy to bake, and infuse with cannabis. All you need is cannabutter, which you could make yourself or buy quite easily from online dispensaries.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup cannabutter
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups of flour
  • ¾ cups of finely chopped nuts
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • Extra powdered sugar

Method

Begin by preheating your oven 400° F (200° C). In a mixing bowl, add your cannabutter, ½ cup powdered sugar, flour, vanilla extract and nuts and stir them until you have a consistent cookie dough.

Once you have the dough, you can now roll it into balls of 1 inch each, but it’s up to you if you want other shapes and sizes as well. Place your cookies on a lined baking tray, and bake them for 10 to 15 minutes. While many people do let them go brown, we advise against it. Once the cookies have cooled down, you should now sprinkle/dust them with the extra powdered sugar.

Voila, your Snowball Cannabis Cookies are ready.

3. Cannabis infused banana bread

It’s always cold on Christmas day in Canada, and nothing warms your heart and body better than banana bread. Luckily for you, this is also quite easy to make, and goes great with cannabis as well.

All you’ll need is cannabutter, or cannabis infused oil, which you can either make yourself or buy online.

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas, smashed
  • ½ cup of flour
  • ½ cup cannabutter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Method

Begin by preheating your oven up to 175° C. Melt your cannabutter and mix it well with the smashed bananas, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, salt and baking soda. Be sure to add the flour last, when all other ingredients have been thoroughly mixed.

Once you have the batter ready, butter your baking tray or lay it out with baking paper. Bake the mixture for an hour and voila, your cannabis infused banana bread is ready.

4. Hot Chocolate on a stick

This is perhaps the perfect Christmas treat, and is also vegan, gluten free and quite adorable.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of melted chocolate
  • 50 grams of cannabis infused oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup of cocoa powder

Instructions

Thoroughly mix the melted chocolate and infused oil together and add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder into the mix as well. We recommend that you use a spatula to stir the mixture, and keep stirring it until it is nice and thick.

All you need to do now is pour the mixture into molds of your choice, let them sit for between 45 and 60 minutes, remove them from the mold and serve. Voila, your cannabis infused hot chocolate on a stick is ready.

5. Cannabis Marshmallows

We saved the best for last.

Cannabis infused marshmallows are a classic way to incorporate weed and sweets. You’d be surprised to know how easy they are to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of cannabis infused ghee/oil.

You’ll also need a mixing bowl, a saucepan, a whisk, a spatula, a cookie cutter and a cutting board.

Method

Begin by soaking the gelatine in half a cup of water. Pour the other half in a saucepan, and dissolve the 2 cups of sugar in it. Heat this solution up to a boil, and remove it from the heat.

Mix this sugar syrup with the vanilla extract, cannabis ghee/oil, and the gelatin solution as well. Use an electric whisk (if possible) to create a fluffy, creamy marshmallow mix. Just make sure that you don’t stop until it is extremely fluffy.

Once you have this extra fluffy mix, sprinkle some powdered sugar to coat a bowl and your cutting board. This will stop  your mixture from getting stuck everywhere when it cools down. But once it has cooled down, pour it onto the cutting board, and use the cookie cutter to cut out your favorite shapes and sizes.

Voila, your cannabis marshmallows are ready. You can serve them with a hot chocolate on a cold, snowy christmas day, and even use sprinkles or chocolate chips to decorate it as well.
